Happiness is...

I love going on drives with my love and stopping at our favorite antique stores.  We have a few favorite stores that always turn up hidden treasures and a few new ones that have popped up along the way.   We especially love little bottles and use them all over the house to keep plant clippings in, and feathers and bits of sticks and leaves that are found along the way.  But even as beautiful as the nooks and crannies in all of these stores are,  I am always just as happy to come home and enjoy our space.  A space we built together and love to be in.  A space that changes depending on our finds and our moods.  A creative space.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend too.

A week in review....

a wonderful week it's been. I hope yours has been the same.
I try to smile through february because sometimes it seems like nothing else works.
Maybe it's just living somewhere with extreme temperatures, but the end of winter is always  takes extra patience on my part.  So I find it's best just to smile through it... besides, my birthday is just around the corner!

Foodie

I love to eat.  I really, really do.  And I have a lot of favorites that I lean towards, but I am also willing to try new things. Sometimes.  One things is always the same though, and that is that I will surely take a picture of it.

So here is what I've eaten in the last couple weeks...

.... according to my iPhone.

Tacos at home with a big side of fresh spinach.

Coffee for two in a huge French Press with Rock Candy stirrers and elephant creamers.

Mussels, clams and oysters with red wine and his family.

Sushi in the city.

Fresh fruit with mint and honey.  You've never had fruit so good!

Squid Salad with shaved and fried beets.

 Scrambled eggs for breakfast.

Lobster and shrimp for Seafood Bisque.

Seafood Bisque with Lobster Claw garnish.

Arugula Scramble with goat cheese, chopped chilies and shaved Parmesan.

Seltzer and Cranberry juice at the Bistro for breakfast.

Raw Kobe beef slices served with a hot rock slab for cooking the meat yourself.

Wonderful Filet at 677 with an entire head of garlic roasted and served on the side.  And those mashed potato sides.. one has roasted sweet corn and the other one has lobster chunks!

This dessert went so fast that there were just smears of raspberry and chocolate sauce.

Even the water has a life of its own!

My best friend still loves whip cream on her hot chocolate!

and more fruit with mint and honey because I am totally addicted to it.  There, I said it.

I go through phases with food where I get addicted to something and I eat it over and over again for weeks, sometimes months, before I tire of it, or it goes out of season. Last year it was baked potatoes.  A baked potato for lunch with every different topping combo you could imagine.  And then the warm weather hit and I was over it.  Then for the summer it was Kalamata olives with mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, avocado, balsamic and olive oil.  For six months straight it was my lunch.  And then the cold weather came in and all my taste buds changed and now it's been fruit with chopped mint and honey.  In love!   Do any of you get on food kicks?

Goddess Girls!

I was fortunate enough to be asked back to do another  Goddess Girls! Event with the ever so talented Tamme Stitt, creator, owner, photographer of the whole darn thing.  She is so good at what she does and I am always picking up tons of tips and little tricks from her, not only on the photography end of things, but just in being an awesome person in general.  And the fact that I go home with a lot less jewelry doesn't hurt either.  This one was shot on location at her studio which is pretty much a second floor apartment.  So there are many rooms including a kitchen where the girls can all hang out and mingle while each one has their session.  And Tamme's good friend Lisa is a baker and brings all these yummy cupcakes and chocolates and mimosas and it's just so much fun.  The next one I am working has something to do with body painting! I can't wait!!

And now here are some of Tamme's photos from the day, some highlighting my jewelry including a costume line that I created specifically for Goddess Girls!, and some out takes as well.
